The
Slackers
plus Colouring
Lesson
Genre: Indie Rock / Third Wave Ska / Reggae
With a unique and well-balanced mix
of reggae, ska, rock and dub, The Slackers stand in a genre all their own. These
guys have created waves in all facets of the industry, and have formed a significant
cultish following in the process. Their sound has been described as the Rolling
Stones, if they grew up with Bob Marley and Muddy Waters.
Since the 90’s, the members of The Slackers have extended their artistic
creativity into various projects including songwriting and performing with Rancid,
The Transplants, The Pietasters, and even sampling music for Pink on her most
recent album.
In 2004, The Slackers joined the Deconstruction Tour playing alongside Yellowcard,
Pennywise, Anti-Flag and Strike Anywhere.
Their genre is completely indefinable, which helps to explain their eclectic
and growing fan base that hails followers from devout rock to pure reggae.
“…the best American ska record to appear in a long, long while (well, at least since the Slackers last one)” –Aversion.com on The Slackers’ most recent album
