Twenty-five years later the church is still pushing musical boundaries of what a rock band should be. After creating a plethora of art-rock albums, the Australian group has spent the last five years making music as they desire, music they feel is worth making. As trends change, and musical genres explode, the church is taking the same approach to making good music as they have for the past twenty years. the church have remained one of the world's most innovative and enigmatic groups justifying praises from the press including "Best guitar band on earth", "Sonic perfection", and  "Sounds that caress the senses".
