Peter Murphy's music is usually categorized as alternative or rock, but that doesn't quite justify the sound of his radical style. Dark and mysterious music is what Murphy is best known for. Although he has led a successful solo career, his fame derives from his time as frontman for the pioneering post-punk goth 80's group Bauhaus. Recently Murphy has collaborated with Trent Renzor from Nine Inch Nails, and the 'Godfather of Goth' extended his vocals to Chase Bank for a national advertising campaign just this year.
