In the mid to late '80's, New Potato Caboose played gigs with the likes of Widespread Panic, Blues Traveler, the Dave Matthews Band and even a little group called Phish- all of whom were opening acts for Caboose at the time. The band is widely known as legitimizing the modern jam band concept by playing three hour long shows that veered into all kinds of noodling rhythms. On August 5, New Potato Caboose will bring to the State Theatre the same epic show of group improvisation and super extended grooves.
